Upgrading elastic search used by Sunbird platform

Description

The sunbird platform uses ES 5.4.3 and all other subsystems (LP/DP) use ES 6.3. We need to upgrade the ES version used by Sunbird platform to ES 6.3 and move the index to the same cluster as LP composite search.

We are now using 2 clusters of 3 servers each and we should review if we need to setup a 5 node elastic search cluster for composite and sunbird indexes in production. QA can still manage with a 3 server cluster and dev with a single ES server.

The logger elastic search machine also needs to be upgraded to ES 6.3 as part of this activity.

This is just ES version upgrade , so if migration is completed successfully then all api should work, In case of any failure none of the api pointing to ES will work (Example : any search api, get user profile , User will be created by after login it won’t work).

please share the impact/affected areas beacuse of this change it will be helpful for QA team to test

Sure

We also discussed that we will use the same cluster for SB Backend and LP in all envs except production. Production will continue to use different clusters and so we will have to provision a new ES cluster with 6.3 in production and migrate the SB Backend data to the new cluster. LP in production will continue to use the same cluster that it uses now.

As per today design discussion we are going to work on static mapping changes only. for static mapping i created a ticket ref: SB‌-11346.

So other part (removing type from ES) will be taken care later (in some other release)
